Investigators say 5 people suffered gunshot wounds from a shooting Tuesday in Custer State Park. A sixth person was injured in the incident but was not shot, police say.
Wednesday morning, the attorney general’s office announced that two suspects have been arrested and charged with five counts of attempted murder.
Sara Rabern in the attorney general’s office says the arrests were made near the scene of the shooting.
Rabern identifies the two men who were arrested as 30-year-old Chad John Wilson of Linwood, Washington, and 32-year-old John James Midmore of Valparaiso, Indiana.
The shooting happened at the Legion Lake resort between 4:30 and 5 o’clock Tuesday afternoon.
Investigators say the injured people are members of The Outlaw motorcycle gang or affiliated with the gang, but they would not confirm whether the suspected shooters are members of a rival gang, the Hell’s Angels.
Two are reported in critical condition at Rapid City Regional hospital, a third was flown to a Sioux Falls hospital and is reported in stable condition. Three others were treated and released.
